Jack Lewis Beal (1923-1998) came to OSU as a doctoral student in pharmacy in 1950. He was appointed Assistant Professor (1952), Associate Professor (1958), Professor (1963). He served as Assistant Dean (1978-81), then Associate Dean (1981-1986). Dr. Beal was appointed director of the medicinal plant garden at OSU in 1952 and received the Edwin L.
